APU's Forensic and Cyber Security Research Center (FSeC) collaborates with industry, government, and other academic institutions on cybersecurity research projects. Further, academic staff affiliated with FSeC undertake their own research work using funds provided by Malaysia grant bodies as well as internal funding from APU itself.
FSeC's Cybersecurity-as-a-Service (FSec-CaaS) is staffed by a dedicated team of cybersecurity professionals comprised of experts and enthusiastic students from APU. FSeC-CaaS offers a range of services designed to secure your digital presence. From vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to cybersecurity consultations and educational workshops, we are here to support you every step of the way. Your security is our priority. We provide confidentiality, trust, and collaboration, ensuring that our clients are not just customers but partners in their cybersecurity journey.
APU develops a large number of innovative solutions every year during the course of academic research projects, PhD projects, Master projects and BSc final year projects. FSeC identifies those solutions with the potential to improve cybersecurity within SMEs, and then undertakes the work necessary to productize them.
The FSeC Student Section (FSeC-SS) provides innovative, hands-on educational opportunities using sophisticated technology and simulation software to create hyper-realistic cyberattack scenarios to provide a winning edge for APU students entering Capture-The-Flag (CTF) competitions.
Further, FSeC-SS designs, creates and runs "Battle-of-the-Hackers" - APU's own international CTF cybersecurity competition which attracts teams from across ASEAN.
